Q: Do you accept Credit Cards?
A: Yes, through Pay Pal services only for sitting fees. You do not need to have a Pay Pal account to submit payment. You will receive an invoice via email. Pay Pal is quick, safe and secure! Portrait orders made through lynrivers.instaproofs.com may also be paid via credit card using lynrivers.instaproofs.com's service. "Special request" print orders and slide show creations may use the Pay Pal service for payments.
Q: When is my sitting fee due?
A: The sitting fee is due at the time you schedule your appointment to guarantee your date.
Q: What if I have to cancel my appointment?
A: If you cancel no later than 10 days before your date, the sitting fee will be refunded in full or it may be applied to a future available date.
Q: How do I place my portrait order?
A: Usually within about 1 week of your photo shoot you will be able to view your proofs online through lynrivers.instaproofs.com using your personally assigned password. You may make your print choices conveniently through this website in the comfort of your own home. You may share your online gallery with family and friends so they may also make their own orders if they choose.
Q: What type of prints can be ordered through instaproofs?
Through lynrivers.instaproofs.com you will be able to order color, black and white and sepia toned prints in a variety of sizes.
Q: When do I pay for prints?
A: Prints are paid for in full via lynrivers.instaproofs.com at time of order placement.
Q: What is a credit voucher?
A: A credit voucher is provided to you with certain packages. This is a value amount available to you for use on your print orders through lynrivers.instaproofs.com only. For example, if you have a $100 credit voucher, you may redeem it at insptaproofs.com for prints up to the value of $100. Credit vouchers are nonrefundable, but do not expire until your online proof gallery expires. Again, credit vouchers are for use when ordering prints online, they are not redeemable for special request prints, collages or albums, etc.
Q: How long are my proofs available to view and order online?
A: Your online gallery will be hosted at lynrivers.instaproofs.com for about 9 months. A service charge of $50 will be required to have your proofs reposted once the event has expired.
Q: Why is my online gallery watermarked?
A: Your photographs are the result of my time and talent, education, experience, creativity and professionalism. I earn an income providing you with this quality product. Frequently, photographers right to earn that income is violated when work is unlawfully copied or reproduced. Watermarking ensures that the images in your gallery cannot be printed at a lab, and would be undesireable if printed on a personal printer. As the creator of your portraits, Lyn Rivers Photography, under the protection of federal copyright law, owns all the rights to your images. This includes the right to control the making of prints, photographic products and the right to regulate digital or online usage. It is illegal to copy or scan your prints, email, host or save your proof imgages without permission.
Q: When will I receive my prints?
A: Prints are usually shipped out or available for pick up in about 3 weeks from the time your order is placed.
Q: Do you do on site photography at a location of my choice?
A: Yes, I will travel to a location of your choice. There may be a trip charge for travel over one hour; contact for details.
Q: Can I have location shots and studio shots?
A: Yes, depending on the package you choose. I will travel to a location of your choice (see above question) and I will also bring a portable studio to set up in the comfort of your home if space provides; let's talk about the options!
Q: What is a portable studio?
A: After discussing our options when space provides, I will bring a backdrop system with appropriate backdrops for set up in the comfort of your home. We can take advantage of natural lighting or studio lights can also be brought when necessary. Using the portable studio allows clients to be in the comfort of their own home without having to transport wardrobe changes, touch up make up and more! This is a great option for infants and children.
Q: Can we have a pre-session consultation?
A: Absolutely! I would love to discuss your thoughts, ideas and wishes ahead of time. This can be done via email or phone contact, whichever is most convenient.
Q: Do you take special requests?
A: Yes, your input is very important in your photo shoot. I want to capture the real you! If you have a special look or feel you wish to capture, let's discuss the options!!
Q: Are images retouched?
A: I retouch minor blemishes and other small distractions as part of my image editting routine. Often this is done after you order your prints as it would be too time consuming to fully retouch all images in an online gallery. Upon request, I would be happy to post one example of a fully retouched image in your online gallery.
Q: Special request prints and more?
A: Several special requests for prints are also available beyond your options through instaproofs.com. We can discuss these further if you are interested in items such gallery wraps, announcements, slide show creations, collages, albums and more. These items are ordered directly through lynrivers@lynriversphotography.com, not the online gallery.
Credit vouchers may not be applied to these special request items.
Q: How can I get a copy of all of my proofs?
A: In digital photography, there aren't any proofs in the traditional sense of the word. Your images come out of the camera and go right onto the computer. From there the images are processed from RAW files into finished portrait images. From there your images are published into your personal online gallery. Nothing is actually printed until you place your order. If you'd like to purchase a complete set of your images, a proof album is a great way to go. The possibility of purchasing images on CD/DVD may be discussed.
Q: Satisfaction guaranteed?
A: It is my goal not only to meet, but to exceed your expectations! After viewing your online proofs, if I have not done this, please contact me so we may set up a second consultation and photo session when necessary. Especially with children, it just may not be "their day" and I understand this. If this is the case, we can reschedule for a second session.
Q: Print guarantees?
A: Prints may only be returned for damage issues.
